The role of a water flange is to ensure the distribution of coolant in the overall cooling system of the vehicle.
The water flange can be made of metal or plastic according to the vehicle definitions.
This water flange is a complement to the cooling pipe range, and allows to optimize the dimensioning of the cooling circuit by its geometry.
The water flange is usually located on the engine block or cylinder head and may be attached to the thermostat housing, radiator, or other components of the cooling system. It may have several ports or connections to accommodate hoses or pipes that carry coolant to various parts of the engine.
The water flange can also be equipped with additional functions, such as a water temperature sensor.
